wedding coloring book
I’m having goodie bags for the kids at my wedding reception,I need some ideas of what to put in them?
Im putting little wedding coloring books from oriental trading in their bags but I need some more ideas of stuff,the more specific the ideas the better.The ages range from 1 to 8.
I’m assuming that your idea for the bags is to keep the kids occupied instead of bored so you’re hoping they will not misbehave. The issue then becomes having to personalize the bags because there is such a huge difference between 1 and 8. The one year old need a pacifier and blankie. One 8 year old might need a good book while another one needs a video game. So it’s going to be hard to buy things in bulk for this type of group.
However, I would definitely leave out the party poppers and confetti. About 2 minutes after the bags are opened, the confetti will be a few few away from where the bag was handed to the child. The party poppers is a two second activity that will result in a mess and people getting frightened at the loud poppers. Bubbles will be a huge mess and people will get bubbles in their eyes. (When you think about kiddos and bubbles, remember being outside and the fun messes. That’s what they think bubbles are for.)
Coloring books might be good for the kindergarten & 1st graders, but you’ll need something that will hold the older ones attention. Puzzles they can solve, word games, etc. And they’ll need pencils and crayons as well.
Here are some things I saw on OTC that might be fun, less messy and might keep the older kids challenged for awhile. (BTW, you are very thoughtful to be going to this trouble.)

You might also consider a small camera ($3.94) from Walmart if you want to spend that kind of money. They can take photos of all sorts of things. (let their parents develop the film; don’t offer that one)

If you have time you can even add some game pages from your home printer; pages of dots so they can play the dot game; pages of tic-tac-toe games, pages of word finds, etc.
